Reverend Augusta H. Hall, Jr.

 

Reverend Hall received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Zoology from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.  He received the Master of Science Degree in Biology from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. He later received the Master of Divinity from Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Reverend Hall was licensed to preach, ordained an Itinerant Deacon, and Itinerant Elder in the Augusta Georgia Annual Conference.  He was appointed as the Sixth Episcopal District Archivist and published three books entitled, “A Solid Foundation”, “Bishop Henry McNeal Turner”, and “From Whence We Came.” On the Conference level, Reverend Hall serves on the Board of Examiners and the Board of Trustees.  As an Alumni of Turner Theological Seminary, he also serves on the Board of Trustees.

Reverend Hall currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Flipper Temple A.M.E. Church in Atlanta, Georgia whom he holds close to his heart.  Under his leadership, a new roof was put on the church, a church bus was purchased, a new parking lot has been completed, a renewed effort has been launched to reach out to the students in the Atlanta University Center, and the ministerial staff has been used to invigorate the Bible Study Program.  Striving to “Build a Church Big Enough for God,” Pastor Hall has implemented several new ministries at Flipper, a Women’s Ministry, College Ministry, Homeless Shelter Ministry, Food Pantry, Family/Teen Ministry, and Adoption Ministry.  He has given Flipper a sense of renewal with the slogan “The Downtown Church with The Uptown Spirit!”  Come! Catch The Spirit!

Reverend Hall faithfully serves the congregations to which he has been assigned. From 1995-2005, as Senior Pastor of Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Covington, Georgia, the Church grew spiritually and physically. Under his leadership, many improvements were made to the Church. Some of them were computerizing church records, music department upgrades, the purchase of land, and a sidewalk from one end of the street to the other.  Several ministries were organized under Pastor Hall such as the Senior Citizens/Retirees Program, Church Ministry, Tape and Communication Ministry, Male & A. H. Hall Usher Boards, Male Chorus, Young Adult Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Couples Ministry, and Greeters, Young Adult Choir and Health Ministry/Nurses Guild, etc.

Pastor Hall served as Assistant Pastor at Saint Philip African Methodist Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia and Bethel African Methodist Church in Augusta, Georgia. He was a Class Instructor for the African Methodist Episcopal Ministerial Educational Alliance as well.

Reverend Hall has held several professional positions prior to going into full-time ministry as a Cytogenetic Specialist with Genetics and Laboratory Medicine, Inc., and a Research Assistant in the Department of Biology at Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia. In Augusta, Georgia, he was a Laboratory Technician II with the Medical College of Georgia, and a Computer Operator with Augusta State University. Early in his career, he was an Accountant with Magic City Asphalt Company in Akron, Ohio.

Reverend Hall is fully committed to the work of the ministry, and he continually encourages others to do greater works for the Lord!
