Sweet Auburn SpringFest 2012
May 11-13, 2012 – Auburn Avenue in Downtown Atlanta Georgia

Attracting more than 500,000 people… Sweet Auburn SpringFest is the largest street festival in the Southeast. In 2011, SpringFest featured 7 stages of live entertainment… Fantastic Fun Zone for the kids, a Technology Expo, an International Craft Marketplace, the Sweet Auburn Film Festival and more. Since 2009, the SpringFest expanded to a 2-mile radius and and now includes Centennial Olympic Park.

Sweet Auburn SpringFest 2012 times: Fri. 5 PM – 11 PM, Sat. 11 AM -9 PM, Sun. 2 PM – 8 PM. Admission is free.

 
Atlanta Jazz Festival 2012

Considered one of the World's greatest Musical Celebrations …this annual jazz event always draws a couple of 100,000 people to listen to many well-known musicians such as Fats Domino and the Neville Brothers.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival will take place at ' several different ' Venues throughout the Atlanta area, including: Centennial Olympic Park, Underground Atlanta, Churchill Grounds, Piedmont Park and more.

 

Send a Card to the Sick and Shut-in Members

Those who are sick and shut in often wonder if out of sight means they are out of their loved ones' minds. Sometimes a card with beautiful picture and just the message that you are thinking of them will let them know they are not for forgotten and that they still matter to someone. They might keep such a card where they will see it often. Be sure and write something personal at the end in your own handwriting. That is often the part that shows you really care.

Scholarship Opportunity from the Flipper Forum….
Applications for the 2012 Nordstrom Scholarship Program are available now for deserving high school juniors. The company will award eighty (80) college scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each to students in states where Nordstrom has a store. Please share widely with your network or with anyone who knows of a young person who plans to attend college.(civic groups, churches, fraternities/sororities, etc).

Zumbathon at Morris Brown College

The Women for Morris Brown College will be holding a Zumbathon at the MBC Student Union Bldg. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Come join us as we strive to get fit and healthy!  We will have several classes at all levels: the regular class, the senior class, a slow paced class, etc.  We will have water and fruit for you to enjoy as you get your workout.
